What is ChatGPT

ChatGPT is a natural language processing software
driven by AI that can have human-like conversations and solve tasks in our
daily lives. With over 100 million users and 1.6 billion visits since June
2023, ChatGPT is increasingly becoming a popular application. You can visit
the site using this URL: https://chat.openai.com/auth/login, and log in with
an account.

Some of the most common uses for ChatGPT are writing an essay, creating an
app, writing code, building a resume, making a grocery list, summarizing co-
ntext, and starting an Etsy Business. Not only can it answer basic questions,
but it can analyze and describe art in detail and have philosophical conve-
rsations. ChatGPT can do all these tasks while emulating human language and
displaying emotions, humor, and creativity. These human-like responses are
why this model of AI is so much more successful because it feels more accur-
ate and authentic.

What can't it do?

Quite a lot actually. Although there are endless possibilities
for the use and power of AI, it’s not flawless. There are still
limitations to ChatGPT’s abilities. Users may have to reword and
ask the program a question multiple times toget their desired ans-
wer. It’s like asking Siri or your Alexa a simple question, but
they reply, “Hmm, I don’t know that one….” The quality of the
responses is not 100% accurate either, so even though it appears
the questions are right, they most likely aren’t. The software
may give you hard-to-understand or ambiguous answers that lead
to having more questions. Even though ChatGPT is a helpful res-
ource, it doesn’t have all the answers.

Controvery around ChatGPT

ChatGPT has had mixed reviews, with some users reporting that
the AI gives biased or incorrect information, and doesn’t overall
have a polished quality, while others praise AI's ability and ef-
ficiency. The company behind ChatGPT, OpenAI, has promised to
make AI, “safe and aligned with human values,” but ChatGPT takes
a, “less restrictive approach.” AI can weigh in on more sensitive
topics like politics and religion, offending many people.

Another controversy is with schools around the country trying to
prevent AI-generated homework. Students are misusing ChatGPT as
a quick way to write essays or summaries for school work, and sc-
hools have a hard time matching the AI. Software that can differ-
entiate AI from actual human responses is being developed to
prevent students from cheating; however, AI is making it
increasingly difficult.
